The San Jose Science workshop is an after school program free of charge for children ages eight and above. The goal of this workshop is to provide an environment for children to learn science through their own discoveries and experiences. We have exhibits dedicated to physics and biology where kids can learn by playing with displays of scientific principles such as light, sound, inertia, and electromagnetic induction. But, more importantly, the workshop gives kids the tools and materials to build projects themselves. The kids learn science the best way possible, through discovery and invention while playing.
Such informal discovery is very difficult to do in classrooms due to budget and time considerations. At our after school drop-in sessions, kids can learn at there own pace. The workshop is a wonderful place to experience things that kids often only get to read and hear at school. This web site is designed and maintained by Khalil Bahram.
